Goals

The Bachelor Programme in Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics aims to provide basic training for future professionals in a complex and rapidly evolving multidisciplinary scientific and technological area, which is Biomedical Engineering (EB).

This training covers the areas of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, programming, engineering, management and health, enabling students, in a second cycle of studies, to master specific concepts and develop technological solutions in EB for health promotion, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation, along with competencies in biomedical research and complex data analysis.

The study plan also includes an internship in a research, hospital or business environment in Portugal or abroad, thus providing students with a first professional experience in the field of EB and knowledge of public or private entities, relevant to this field.
