R&D Ecosystem

ULisboa's considered units are dedicated to research, development and innovation in the areas of their specific remit, hosting and framing various R&D structures.

ULisboa incorporates all the major areas of knowledge developed in its 18 Schools, spread over 9 campuses located mainly in the city of Lisbon.

In addition to the 70 Research and Development Units that constitute its research ecosystem, ULisboa coordinates or participates in 21 Associated Laboratories.

ULisboa also participates in 18 Collaborative Laboratories, an opportunity for academic institutions, in close collaboration with economic, social and cultural actors, to contribute to the construction of projects of international relevance, with an effective impact on society, stimulating the creation of qualified employment.

The University also participates in 12 Research Infrastructures, resource and service platforms for R&D activities in scientific areas of strategic interest and in line with European infrastructure policy.
