History
This course aims at the acquisition of knowledge and skills that will enable the future graduate to the practice and teaching of history. Its study plan thus seeks a balance between a solid general knowledge base and a pre-expertise obtained through the choice of options, that may be completed in the 2nd and 3rd cycles. It promotes a teaching / learning process centered on the autonomy of the students and their individual pathways, stimulating their critical ability, reflection, discussion and synthesis of the theories, methods and problems of historical knowledge in its various components and its extended spatial and temporal context.
History graduates develop activities as diverse as historical research, the processing of information and the promotion of historical and cultural projects (in institutions such as libraries, archives, museums, municipalities, foundations or companies), the inventorying and safeguarding of Heritage , cultural tourism or the production and consultancy of historical content for the media.
Many graduates in History continue to study, entering master's and doctoral courses in History or other areas of Social Sciences and the Humanities.
