School of Arts and Humanities
Goals

The MA in Classics, following the first cycle in Classical Studies, allows for further research in the areas of language, literature and classical culture, as well as the reception of classics of Western culture, particularly European culture. The basic aim of this study programme is to research various aspects of Greek and Latin literature, as well as Greek and / or Latin languages, in order to allow students to acquire the skills necessary to translate the original texts. Furthermore, it presents students with a deeper understanding of Classical culture and its ties to contemporary cultural history. It seeks to provide students with fundamental instruments for pursing interdisciplinary studies, in which Classical studies play a crucial role.

Career prospects

This course offers knowledge of classical languages and cultures (Latin and Greek) and develops skills to interpret classical sources (as well as Latin and Greek, medieval and Renaissance sources), which help to understand the process of conceptual construction of the contemporary world. The ability to critically analyze, produce evaluation judgments and coherent arguments, carry out autonomous work and solve problems are some of the fundamental skills developed by the course.
