Conservation of Modern and Contemporary Art
The formation of this cycle of studies values and makes known recent research in conservation and restoration, related to the technical terminology used, theoretical, ethical, deontological, social, methodological and material issues. Students, with guidance and in an autonomous and interdisciplinary way, are confronted with simple and complex conservation and restoration problems, with tests of techniques and materials being carried out and interventions in real works. In modern and contemporary art, traditional intervention in the field is not always applied, which is why the decision models applied internationally are analysed and tested. The study of the techniques and materials of the works and the procedures and materials used in conservation and restoration interventions is valued.
