Islamic and Medieval Mediterranean History
Studies on the Mediterranean have sparked many formations in reference to academic institutions worldwide. The importance of this area marks the emergence of modernity and the configuration of the political balances worldwide. We seek here to understand how very different societies may know and live with others. The proposed training model refers to an analysis centered on al-Andalus, and appeals to cultural constructions, social, political, economic and even spacecraft, which are configured with North Africa. This proposal aims to incorporate the University of Algarve in a master already accredited by A3ES and in its 2nd year of operation (which in turn resulted from the merging of two others, one in UL and EU and another by UAlg and the UC). Also part of the partnership is the CAM (Mértola Archaeological Site) and GESOS (Study Group on the Order of Santiago) of the C. M. Palmela. The Master awaits future integration of U. Coimbra.
Focused on the scientific areas of History and Linguistics, the course provides for the completion of a dissertation.
