Physical Geography and Environmental Management
The Master in Physical Geography and Environmental Management aims to provide advanced knowledge in physical geography, biophysical spatial planning, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and methods and techniques of spatial planning, promoting:
The knowledge of the territory and its physical and biophysical components;
The deepening and discussion of concepts, theories and methods in theoretical and applied Physical Geography to the Physical and Biophysical Planning of the Territory;
Knowledge of techniques, instruments and tools used in studies of Physical Geography and their application to Spatial Planning, including instrumentation used in field monitoring, remote sensing and geographic information systems
The evaluation of the dynamics of different physical and biophysical systems;
The knowledge of territory monitoring techniques;
The knowledge of methodologies of assessment and management of natural resources and natural and environmental risks;
The knowledge of spatial planning instruments at various scales;
The contribution to the planning and sustainable management of the territory.
The Master in Physical Geography and Environmental Management provides two types of professional outlets: researchers and technicians in spatial planning and management, both guided by scientific rigor and a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Master in Physical Geography and Spatial Planning recovers the tradition of qualified scientific research in the different branches of Physical Geography and deepens the applications to biophysical planning and land management using modern analytical techniques.
Access and ingress
Application requirements:
a) Holders of an undergraduate degree or legal equivalent in territorial sciences, planning, social sciences, environmental sciences and other related fields;
b) Holders of a foreign higher education academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State that has acceded to this Process;
c) Holders of a foreign higher education academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of a degree by competent Scientific Council of the higher education institution where they wish to be admitted;
d) holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the competent Scientific Council of the higher education institution where they wish to be admitted.
