Statistics and Operational Research
The students will obtain advanced level training in Statistics and Operational Research, by linking knowledge of a fundamental nature with solution procedures with the perspective of application to different situations and to other areas of science and technology.
A comprehensive view of Statistics and Operational Research at the confluence of several disciplines of analysis and problem solving, strengthening the aspects of modeling and representation, and computer programming, emphasizing the study of dynamic stochastic models and emphasize the duality and complementarities of the analytical and the numerical approaches, will be provided.
Models and techniques for planning and analysis will be introduced. The basic principles and methods relevant to economic decision and monitoring or process control - in particular, optimal decision rules based on forecasts for troubleshooting, will be presented.
Any organizations where Statistics and Operational Research are relevant to the analysis of data and events, to characterize phenomena or to support decisions, including public and private companies, industrial, commercial or service, local authorities, hospitals, consultants, companies transport, planning departments, banks, insurance companies, etc.
