The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China approved the creation of a Faculty/School from the Universidade de Lisboa in the University of Shanghai.

ULisboa opens faculty in the University of Shanghai
The first courses are expected to start in September of this year, with international student recruitment.
The Faculty with start by providing bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. In September 2023, there will also be three Master’s degree courses in these areas.
In this first phase, the Faculty will have 900 students, and the teaching staff will be made up of 1/3 teachers from ULisboa, 1/3 teachers from the University of Shanghai and 1/3 internationally recruited.
The study programmes are taught in English and has Portuguese as a second language, whose teaching is part of the course curricula. It also includes part of the attendance in Lisbon.
The creation of a ULisboa School in the People’s Republic of China is another crucial step in the international presence of the Universidade de Lisboa.
