Universidade de Lisboa among the top 200 universities in the world
In 2020, ULisboa confirms its national leadership once again, standing out in the number of articles indexed in the Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Science Citation Index, in the number of highly mentioned researchers and in the number of published articles in scientific journals of “Nature and Science”. This year ULisboa's scientific publication have increased comparing to 2019.
Universidade de Lisboa is the only Portuguese university among the top 200 universities in the world, where only 56 European universities are also ranked. Other Portuguese universities ranked among the 500 best universities in the world are the University of Porto (301 – 400) and the University of Minho (401-500).
In the 2020 about 2000 universities are actually ranked by ARWU every year considering its quality of education, teaching, research and performance per capita,but only the best 1000 universities are published.
ULisboa’s performance came as a result of the investment made and the quality of its community, both students and staff.
