Twenty-seven students, a journey between two European universities on board a train, these are the ingredients that gave rise to the U!Train program, an exciting cultural adventure on sustainable mobility promoted by Unite!, which runs from September 1 to 7.
The U!Train program is underway with the participation of ULisboa students
The meeting point for the U!Train was the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, from where the train left for Grenoble INP-UGA. The course began before departure, with around 6 hours of online classes the week before, providing participants with essential knowledge and skills for the program.
This Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), co-funded by the Erasmus+ program and promoted by Unite!, was coordinated by the University of Lisbon, the Grenoble INP-UGA and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
This trip has offered participants a unique opportunity for practical skills and interdisciplinary knowledge on Urban Mobility, Sustainable Transport Systems and Innovations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Cultural Diversity.
The ULisboa representatives who applied in advance and are taking part in this adventure are two undergraduate students. They are Rúben Matos, who is studying Biology at the Faculty of Sciences, and Tiago de Sousa, who is currently studying Biological Engineering at the IST Técnico Lisboa.
In addition to the academic modules which will have a value of 3 credits (ECTS), the participants have had the opportunity to make connections with students from the other 8 Universities that are part of the European Alliance Unite! creating an atmosphere of intercultural community, enjoying unique cultural experiences in Barcelona and Grenoble.
Unite! (University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering) is an Alliance of European Universities, which aims to lead the transformation of the European Education Area through a new generation of Europeans, committed to cross-border, transdisciplinary and multilingual cooperation, whom are able to face the great societal challenges, while contributing to Europe’s leadership as an area of knowledge.
