Goals

The main objective of this PhD programme is to promote research. By means of theoretical research, the PhD course aims at, on one hand, providing the students with skills of systematic understanding and research methods in the field of what is broadly known as Literary and Cultural Studies focused on those using Romance languages. On the other hand, the course aims at contributing to enlarge, deepen and constantly refresh the knowledge about those literatures and cultures through the promotion of individual and colective research.

This PhD programme also aims at matching its broad field with contemporary social and cultural reality.

Career prospects

State-of-the-art knowledge at the forefront of an area of study or work and in the interconnection between areas; more advanced and specialized skills and techniques, necessary for solving critical problems in the area of research and/or innovation for the expansion and redefinition of existing knowledge or professional practices.

a) Applicants with a Master degree or equivalent; b) Applicants with a university degree or equivalent holding a relevant scholarly and scientific curriculum, that is recognized as such for engaging in a PhD course by the scientific council of the FLUL. c) Exceptionally the applicants holding a relevant scholarly and scientific curriculum, that is recognized as such for engaging in a PhD course by the scientific council of the FLUL.
