Goals

The Master's in Biostatistics is intended to respond to the need for scientists in Biostatistics to support research at the highest level in the following areas of Health Sciences and Biology.

A highly specialized faculty has designed this course to provide initially a theoretical basis in probability and statistics, followed by an intensive exposure in chairs options, a wide range of methodologies and specific statistical techniques.

At the end of the course, students will be prepared to: select experimental plans to answer questions of a medical or biological nature; select and apply statistical techniques to analyze and model the data types that arise in these areas; use of varied software for statistical analysis and interpret the results; communicate effectively with statisticians and professionals in the areas cited by oral or written presentations on the results of statistical analysis or exploration of new techniques.

Graduates of this course work in sectors related to university education, research institutions, pharmaceutical industry, health service and other government institutions.
