Artistic Studies
The BA in Artistic Studies-Performing Arts aims to provide university training, based on a historical approach to the arts and art criticism, and is founded on a contemporary theoretical perspective applied to the study of the arts. It seeks to compare different forms of art, namely cinema and audiovisual arts, performing arts (theatre, dance, music) and plastic arts. The goal of its study plan is to provide plural and solid training insofar as work techniques, research methods and the development of production and analysis skills enable students to respond to the new challenges in the field of the arts – thus assigning practice, research and theory their due role. Such an approach prepares students with vastly different expectations for a large variety of professional activities related to cultural inheritance and artistic creation and production.
Graduates develop activities related to cultural heritage and artistic creation and production, as cultural animators and programmers, festival organizers, agents of artistic practices in the audiovisual field (radio, cinema, television), cultural journalists and critics in the media social media, dramaturgists, documentalists, or researchers.
Many of the graduates in Art Studies – Performing Arts continue to study. The degree gives access to 2nd and 3rd cycle courses in various areas of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
