The Highly Cited Researchers 2018 list features four scientists from Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa). This list includes authors of the most influential scientific papers in the World, including those ranking in the top 1% by citations for field on Web of Science.

4 Universidade de Lisboa researchers in the top-cited papers in the World
The featured ULisboa researchers and professors are from the fields of Engineering, at IST – Técnico Lisboa, Agricultural Sciences, at the School of Agriculture (ISA), and Animal and Plant Sciences, at Faculty of Sciences (FC). This indicator is of great relevance, contributing to the international recognition of national scientific production.
The list of highly cited scientists is published annually by Clarivate Analytics and considers papers indexed on Web of Science between 2006 and 2016. 4,058 scientists, on a global level, were identified as having significant impact in 21 scientific fields and another additionally nominated 2,020 scientists as being influent in varied fields.
On the 2018 list, there are 14 scientists from Portugal featured, eight more than in 2017. Four are from ULisboa, four from University of Minho, four from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, one from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and another from University of Évora.
